Substance Abuse Assessment
The first step to getting help is to schedule an assessment. An initial assessment is essential to determine the needs of an individual. Open Door, Inc. utilizes a structured interview to assess the unique needs of each person. The assessment should cover the presenting problem and also formulate an understanding of the various domains of an individual’s life in order to develop an appropriate personalized treatment plan.

Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment

Outpatient counseling offers a combination of individual counseling sessions, group therapy and family sessions, if appropriate. The course of treatment is based on the assessment findings and the individual treatment goals. Once per week sessions may be recommended or more frequent interactions may be necessary depending on the severity of the problem.

Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment

Intensive Outpatient Treatment may be required if an individual is not able to avoid using alcohol and other drugs during the course of a week. The program involves group therapy and alcohol and drug education, individual and family sessions, as appropriate. The Intensive Outpatient sessions occur for 3 hours, three times per week or more depending on the individual’s need.
